This is so sad
Alexa, generate a picture of despacitoAs a shareholder, I want AI “art” to die in a fire
Clearly not a majority. My guess is they’re too scared that they’ll lose some competitive advantage by not greenlighting every misguided use of generative AI
To be fair, it’s not like the people in charge of the companies are asking us.
They’re asking large institutional shareholders. Stuff like black rock and people who manage investments for pension funds.
Amen!
The economy really is gonna do some wacky shit when we drop the fantasy that this garbage is good for anything and stop tjrowing trillions of dollars a year and staggering natural resources at it.
It the dotcom bubble of the 2000s, but a thousand times worse.
Ill finally be able to afford a new computer, though.
Wbich will be helpful, because food…
At least with the dot com bubble there was a clear and obvious use case, the industry just outstripped the exiting capacity.
if peeps were as chill as in the comic <3 thad be nice—
anyway - yesyes - idun care bout them generated images-
EDIT: i wsh i were an artist
i wish i were too, so i generate what i need. if i ever have the money to pay for commission work for my home i’ll do that, but the prospects for this scenario are rather grim.
hmmm - iduno bout u, but when i see amateur art, and see the funi way they drew a background, a hand, the shading or whatevr, i like that.
when its partly generated - iduno… thad does feel right- not just in the “oh no, ai bad blablabla” debate, but more in the like - creation of the art kinda way-
i always feel thad when im attemptin to draw a thing amd it looks rlli bad, i tend to feel oki bout it. i guess its diffrnt when peeps hav like - rlli strong sad response to partial “failures” … but i din judge…
i have seen first graders drawing better stuff than what i produce – i am really untalented, and did never practice (which is the more important thing). I am also not very good in coping with failure… i’m better now than ten years ago, but if i can avoid it i still do.
