In a sweeping move, Berlin’s Office for the Protection of the Constitution outlaws BDS movement, branding it a direct threat to peaceful international order and noting that it crosses a red line into anti-constitutional extremism.

The Office for the Protection of the Constitution in Berlin announced Tuesday that the BDS movement has been classified as “unconstitutional.”

The head of the office, Michael Fischer, explained that the movement’s status in Berlin’s antisemitic and anti-Israel landscape has significantly strengthened over the past year.

Fischer clarified that BDS’s ideology is based on “explicit denial of Israel’s right to exist.” According to him, BDS activity goes beyond boycotting cultural events or Israeli economic products. “The goal is to make the existence of Israel impossible in the international context. It is aimed at its destruction,” Fischer stated.

    Germany continues to support fascism. Only they’ve outsourced it with Zionism, where the untermensch are Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslims

      No, you can (and should) absolutely boycott anything from Israel. The state can’t force you to buy anything.

      This move “just” means that anyone who associates with the official BDS campaign can be watched by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, can easier have their privacy rights violated to be spied upon and can easier be arrested should anything “dangerous” be found out.

      Where dangerous would be defined by gernan law, so it’s purposefully a fuzzy expression.

      And yes, protesting if BDS had a hand in organizing the protest counts as associating. So this serves to scare away protesters.

      Someone did. feddit.org went full Goebbels on a news article. They say that the official BDS stance is that antisemitism is okay because a single activist explained that Palestinians do not understand the difference between Judaism and Zionism because the people bombing them keep saying they are Jews.

      Then their source went on to call the Israelis “Jews” as is tradition.
