The left is untrustworthy to regular people because they allied themselves with neoliberals (especially in matters like immigration). Fascism provides easy solutions and scapegoats even if it serves neoliberal interests in the end - it’s just that people tried other things and they didn’t work. Full blast fascism hasn’t been tried in a while so they forgot what it really is and now they’re getting scammed by them too.
