In the old one, the immortal 11 years old kid Kenneth would use anything he could to achieve survival. They always show us that the older immortals have the advantage as they had more time to train anyways, so why would other immortals didn’t go with modern weapons I have no idea… For a TV show reboot the question must have been asked by someone in the writer room. Why is sword the meta? It’s not really logical.
