      When the can was opened bacteria already came into contact with the spam. Covering it up does not stop bacteria, that’s why it’s put into the fridge. Covering food up just slows down oxidation and dehydration. It’s the fridge that slows down bacteria growth.

          yeah but then the spores will float into the rest of the kitchen the moment you open and close the fridge door and your breathing in the spores anyway. Covering food up is just a fools errand at that point, since you and your house are contaminated either way.
