Well, if you know that your comment is wrong, why not delete it?
Anarchists are vehemently opposed to states such as the USSR and China. We consider them to be as great a danger as fascism.
Yes, apparently reading is hard

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do people get progressively less happy as they age?English
1·2 days agoI think that you have a lot of agency over how you live your life and what you do, which has a huge impact on your happiness.
There is no general answer here, just try to do more things that you know are good for you and make you happy. Eat healthier, stay reasonably fit, get a good and consistent sleep cycle (this has a huge hormonal impact on your happiness). Enjoy good art, make meaningful connections, if you are angry about the state of the world, try to revolt.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do people get progressively less happy as they age?English
21·2 days agoThe question is, if this is correlation or causation. Maybe some people just do less things, that make them happy as they age? Doesn’t mean that you are gonna be unhappy.
Also, this is an average and I imagine, that there is a very high variance among different people. A lot of people may very well get progressively, happier as they age.
I would say, that happiness comes very much down to how you live your life, how you view the world and what you do.
If you have a job, that makes you happy and good relationships and stuff like that, you are probably gonna be happy regardless of your age.

2·2 days agoYeah, I get that.
I mean, what she did was still pretty bad, just the fact that she was totally willing to do that, so I get the other peoples reaction.
I mean, the reaction of her one friend (I don’t remember her name), was a bit overblown, but she had pretty good reasons to (with her cousin and stuff).
I like, that she never tried to justify it in any way, she was like “Yeah, it was really messed up, and I can’t justify it”, but also she changed and grew, so she really regretted it. I think her problem was, that it is really hard to properly communicate how she has changed. And it would probably have been a better idea to talk to her partner about this and not all her friends.
And also her partner had a really hard time trying to accept this, he tried to justify it to himself. He should have been much more caring and supportive. I think he realized this towards the end.
Also the buttons on the golden panel over the toilet (that are typically used to flush) are way smaller, than they are supposed to be

2·2 days agoYeah, I feel like I am the same way with theaters. There is so much great stuff out there, if you dare to look in smaller theaters and are willing to take a risk and enjoy movies on their own terms.
Some other movies, I saw recently which I really liked were “Love me tender”, “The chronology of water” and of course “Marty Surpreme” was also a fun thrillride.
I’ve also seen “The Drama” pretty recently, but it worked really well for me, I chuckled a lot while watching it. And I also could tell, that the other people in the theater really enjoyed it, which made me enjoy it even more.
But it’s a loaded subject, and I can understand if some people don’t vibe with that, especially if they have made experiences with something like that themselves. I luckily don’t live in America, so this is not as much of a reality to me, I guess. But I still liked that the movie still didn’t gloss over the subject, I felt like it dealt with it in a mature, but also humerous way.
I am curious, how did you react to the movie, that made you not enjoy it as much?
Actually, I do none of those things and am really happy.
I find a lot of happiness in art, spending time with my friends and trying to do my part in overthrowing capitalism.
If you wanna be happy, don’t just numb yourself, find new art you enjoy (I’ve got a lot of great movies to recommend, if you are interested), organize, find local organizations where you can help out (maybe also something like mutual aid, a soup kitchen etc.), try to spend more time with your friends, or find new ones at the places mentioned above.
I understand that many of you work hard jobs and don’t have that much time or energy left, and I understand that and it sucks.
But if you’re bored or often find yourself spending way to much time online, why not use that time to revolt against the forces and systems that made us this unhappy?
Trust me, it may be hard at first, but it’s way more rewarding and fun than doomscrolling.

2·5 days agoI think, that the vast majority of pieced developers is actively using piefed (or some piefed-compatible software) though, because otherwise, how would you even think of contributing to a project like that? Is not breaking some peoples habits really worth all the negative aspects of realtime chat platforms like Zulip or Matrix? I think there would be some huge upsides, if we explicitly told people on the codeberg page to post their questions to our forum instead of asking it on matrix/zulip.

6·5 days agoYeah, I’ve seen some projects use that, but I see no reason to, considering it’s not FOSS and piefed is really well suited for this exact purpose.

In my life, why do I give valuable time to people who don’t care if I live or die?
