Yes, that’s not the point.
two things are similar so you don’t really have strong feelings either way.
Acceptance or rejection, no strong feelings either way.

Gleiche Menge an Devisen für die Beschaffung von Resourcen bei steigender interner Nachfrage. Was wird wohl passieren?
Deutschland ist kein rohstoffreiches Land. Geld und Nachfrage ist nicht unser Engpass.

Je größer der Fachkräftemangel desto geringer die Ausbildungsquote.
Maybe that’s what they are saying? They impartially judged the application, without strong feelings. Ironically.
The candle was needed.
No finished project without some force that provided the focus to get it done.
How can any feeling of accomplishment fill the mind when there is the bad feeling of being forced?

We desensitize people to compassion, we dogwhistle people into racism, we train people to ignore dishonesty, we make people comply with authority even if they are wrong, we make people believe in science instead of understanding it, and some more.
This is to make people accept their jobs and create the things that are needed.
In general, people don’t do stuff on their own. So overall the manipulation is needed if we want to have more than hunter gathering. This can be seen as malicious, but also as benevolent.

Mobile phones constantly reveal the location to the cell towers. There is no need for an app. This is just mind games.
Google can predict traffic jams because they know the location of everybody. Nobody cares about tracking as long as they can ignore it. The app makes ignoring difficult.
Turned out the castles, or burges, are not that empty and don’t need a king to serve.
join-lemmy.org could show the posts from all, with a big join button at the top. The introduction page can be shown if somebody presses the join button.
There is one server implementation that shows it to its users. I forgot its name though.

plyth@feddit.orgto Casual Conversation @lemm.ee•Do you think our society should punish malicious manipulators more severely, people have their own responsibility to keep themselves safe, or like most things in life, little of both?English4·11 hours agoResponsibility cannot be delegated. People are always responsible to keep themselves safe. But it makes sense for them to cooperate in a society to organize their safety.
The problem is that manipulation is part of society. For society to work, people must be unaware of some manipulations but then, manipulators can abuse the blind spots.
Overall it’s a cost benefit decision. Some abuse can be easier prevented by regulations, some by personal responsibility.

It’s Gulag for everybody who doesn’t win. You can’t blame lefties for not cooperating. It’s still unfortunate.
