I never understood authoritarian leftist policies until recently. Now, I definitely still have my criticism of their implementations and conditions. But, man, the actual purpose of them make a lot of sense.
Like, what are we supposed to do when a massive part of the population is currently cheering on “bombed them to the stone age” and “destroy their entire civilization”.
Like, we gotta do something about that at some point. We just let absolute genocidal freaks poison our society forever? At some point you gotta do some reeducation. I’m open to other ideas on what to do. But I definitely understand the purpose better now.
Seems like someone like you might not fit the criteria. Maybe you are just enrolled in some weekend classes or something.
That’s the problem with these structures once they are created you hand them over to anyone who is able to use them.
I understand why these policies were implemented, in any serious communist government that wants to stay communist, but if the wrong people from inside or outside get to it, many people will suffer.

If a massive part of your population wants to go to war then you’re in a pretty bad spot and there isnt much that can prevent that authoritarian or not. At that point you’ve failed to convince them there is a better path.
The problem I have with Authoritarians is they always think the guy they’re putting in power isnt going to do anything bad but once he gets power there is nothing stopping them. If you’re lucky the first guy might be good but it will get more and more rotten as the generations go on. Because there is little stopping them from implementing their policy they tend to over correct for any outcome and just end up fucking things up.
