    This reporting feels careless.

The study was conducted as part of Alon Levy’s master’s thesis in public health at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

I’m not saying masters thesis are not good work, but it’s not peer reviewed the same way other research is (yet).

Researchers performed a meta-analysis, a statistical method that combines data from multiple previous studies, incorporating six longitudinal studies conducted in Israel, the United States, Brazil, Finland, and Denmark. Each study included testosterone measurements taken at at least three different time points. In total, data from 118,593 men examined between 1972 and 2019 were analyzed.

This is hardly representative of “worldwide”.

    Feels very

Rising levels of obesity and diabetes are expected to play a part, but the team behind the work suggest that environmental factors such as endocrine-disrupting chemicals – which can be found in various household items – and global heating could also be factors in the apparent striking decline.

So only in ppl who are unhealthy and/or in unhealthy situations. Not really shocking.

For the small % mentioned in the article. Most of it is just having unhealthy practices.

Others said that such a conclusion would be premature. “Obesity and diabetes could easily account for all of this,” said Jayasena

And global climate change is going to do waaay more damage than mere testosterone issues.

Others said that such a conclusion would be premature. “Obesity and diabetes could easily account for all of this,” said Jayasena

Once they see issues in healthy ppl ill be concerned.

Not exactly rocket science. Obesity and sedentary lifestyles disrupt hormonal balance. Of course, people will blame microplastics and “endocrine disruptors”, not the Blooming onion at lunch.
