A large store in Tennessee that exclusively sells President Donald Trump merchandise is closing, and it is due to a lack of shoppers.
The store is located along Interstate 40 near Knoxville, Tennessee and its exterior has massive Trump billboard, banners, and a brick outhouse labelled the “Democrat Superstore” make clear what kind of goods the shop is slinging.
But now the shop is selling off its remaining inventory at a 50 percent discount, Slate reports. It’s going out of business, and its owner, identified as William 'Bill" Hays, admitted the closure is due to lack of customers.
Good.
I can just hear this guy. "The gurl who said thaaat didnt know what she wus talkin bout. "
One day that shit will be like Nazi memorabilia
More like AOL discs
Those made fun single use frisbees and ninja stars. Or art projects if you don’t like litering.
Maybe they should have switched to selling boat flags. Like every boat in Florida has one of those trump flags.
we all want to forget about his crooked ass and someday we will
I kinda fear someone more coherent will get in there running on the same ideas but properly execute it. I’m scared shitless that we’ll look back on his ass like we look back on W now. He was horrible and embarrassing, but his hallmarks were broad republican ideals, hating broccoli, and being unable to say nuclear.
How did they even stay in business this long? I hope they were losing money every month.
I used to live nearby, it always seemed empty whenever we drove by, every time. I dunno how it survived, I think the owner must have had money to burn because they always had a rotation of nice classic cars parked outside. Knew it must have been the owner’s though because it was the same rotation of 5 or so.
In another few years it’s going to be just like Iraq and Afghanistan. All those people who endlessly supported the war will suddenly go quiet and blend in, pretending they never supported such disastrous interventions – and of course, never admit they were wrong.
Suddenly you won’t be able to ever find someone who admits to having been a Trump supporter.
I supported both wars and I was wrong. I nearly joined the Air Force myself. I really believed they did have WMDs in Iraq, and that Afghanistan was deliberately sheltering bin Laden.
I wish I could say one big thing changed my mind and I was wrong for some good reason. But I can’t even point to anything that the handful of radicals hadn’t already told me in person. I just slowly learned more about the world.
Much respect to you! Takes equal parts critical-thinking and humility to introspect and evolve like that.
Suddenly you won’t be able to ever find someone who admits to having been a Trump supporter.
You’re not making lists?
All you LIBTARDS have TDS! I don’t see you COMPLAINING when the BIDEN MEGASTORE went Out Of Business!
-SMERT Republicans!
This is the kind of shitposting I’ve come to expect from lemmyshitpost.
I popped in to one of these Trump stores for a look prior to the election while I was visiting doing a road trip through some states
The shit was expensive and cheaply made, the owner was reacting to recorded news interviews playing on screens as if they were live
Very obviously a grift

In the Trump world, that’s just your standard kayfabe
Very obviously a grift
Also yes, of course.
Its hard to educate the average person on how central the concept of kayfabe is to the current situation we exist in, it goes beyond Trump but I don’t know if anyone besides Vince himself ever used it so effectively.

Enragement capitalism.
I think some ex-Faux guy wrote a book some number of years ago and gave the game away about how Faux was consciously designed to be very similar to WWE, formerly known as WWF. I wish I could find that snippet…
Thanks, I have a new version of hell to fear now.
@quarkquasar @dudeface We’ve been in it for years. And my nightmares are worse about a lot of things (thanks, vought and miller and the .01% of the rich)
Is it weird I read the headline and was a little bit disappointed that someone milking these idiots for all they are worth was going out of business?
@dudeface @spaghettiwestern So stupids are unaffected by it sort of as expected. They’ve been inundated without psychological medical care for years?
Honestly, the dumbasses that would buy this stuff and plaster it on their bodies, their houses, their vehicles…thought they were “owning the libs” with it.
I mostly just shake my head and pity them. Every time I see some gigantic truck acting as a penile compensation device, plastered with gun-nut decals and Trump regalia, I think of it as just another example of The Tribe That Rubs Shit In Their Hair…in-group signaling to other hopeless tribe members.

Penile compensation device is a childish insult.
It’s a gender affirming vehicle.
They clearly must’ve gone woke to get this broke
No bankruptcy is down right presidential.
There’s a guy in my area selling Temu-quality Trump merch on the side of the highway, out of what I’m pretty sure used to be one of those water pistol games you see at carnivals and state fairs, with all that hardware ripped out.
I’ve passed by it on the way to and from work for years now, and never once have I seen a customer.
Even if Trump was still massively popular: He has been at this since his first campaign in 2015? So every fan has had a decade to buy Trump merchandise, MAGA hats, stupid flags, stickers for their car and so on. It’s like running a swastika shop in Nazi Germany in 1938. Everybody already has bought your stuff.
Nothing of value was lost
Its easier to peacock to own the libs when you’re not in power. Now that they are, its harder to be reactionary.
