This is like how fox news tries to say poor people should stop complaining cuz they have refrigerators and microwaves when 100 years ago nobody did.

How much of a sociopath do you have to be, to respond to serious concern about the well-being of their loved ones with “We gave them ice cream a month ago, isn’t that good enough?” and think that’s an appropriate answer that ends the argument.

Don’t they usually give them bulk icecream to eat when they need the space in the freezer for dead people?

I know they do that on cruise ships. I used to work on ships, and we always knew the onboard morgue was full when we got hard ice cream in the mess.

That’s right, tell these people that have voted for you, that they are being whiney and disloyal, as their CHILD defends this country in Trump’s AmerIsraeli War®.

I wouldn’t count on their vote next time. That’s going to the candidate that promises to end this war on Day One, and bring their child home, and means it.

If not on a Sunday, ice cream is generally a last ditch effort to prop up fading morale or to soften REALLY bad news.

The problem for Trump and his tribe is that once you are known as a liar, who believes you about anything?

Knowing this administration, they probably sent the ships ice cream a month ago so that they could point to it later and say “see, the troops are fine. We’re not abusing or neglecting them.”

That’s actually classic narc/abuser behavior. Buy your kids some ice cream so that you can tell them how spoiled they are when they complain about you beating them or being emotionally unavailable.

I wonder where these assholes learned it…

Thing about logistics is that it’s basically that one joke from Life of Brian: “what have the Romans done for us lately?” Doesn’t matter what things were like last month, what matters is what things are like now. And right now things in CENTCOM look pretty bad.

Reminds me of a story in _The New Scientist _ in the dying days of the Soviet Union where scientists at the space research institute were sent crates of ice blocks instead of the parts they needed for the space station. They were punching and elbowing each other out of the way to get to them.
