REMINDER: Mitch McConnell hasn’t been seen or heard from in now 73 days. Yet he still:

  • Has his job
  • Gets paid, and
  • Gets free world-class healthcare

The man who voted against a living wage, against universal healthcare, & against guaranteed paid leave, is getting all three when he needs it most. Every person deserves the human dignity McConnell is getting on the taxpayer dime. Anything less is shameless cruel hypocrisy.

I saw a meme the other day that said Mitch McConnell is the only vegetable the US hasn’t recalled yet.

I doubt that he receives world-class healthcare… They don’t give that to dead people.

True, except for the fact that it’s not HIM getting those paychecks as he’s not alive to cash them.

Probably Elaine Chao or some coal magnate getting it.

Someone in a different thread seriously tried arguing with me that nothing about this is a crime and so the governor shouldn’t be able to do anything about it.

I kept pointing out to him the big glaring FRAUD of collecting a paycheck from the taxpayers for a deceased senator whose death is being covered up, as well as the big glaring FRAUD of hiding a sitting senator’s death for months in order to avoid a special election to replace him.

And the person I was arguing with just kept saying “Oh yeah? Point to the specific code in Kentucky state law that says what he’s doing is illegal”

And I was like, dude I’m not a lawyer and I’m not going to dig through a state that I’ve never been to’s legal code just to prove to you that FRAUD is FRAUD.

He thought he won that argument…

It used to be that in Washington you’d lose your position if you got caught with a dead girl or a live boy.

Now the Republican Party would rather provide income to a dead man than a live woman.

He’s dead, they are trying to stuff some animatronic parts into him as we speak. He was barely moving and freezing all the time, so we won’t notice the difference.

Regardless of the state of his decay, I’m impressed at how many people haven’t yet gotten that the shameless cruel hypocrisy is the point.

Being blatantly shameless in your efforts to have the things you prevent others from having is a show of power, no matter how misguided.

It’s multiple factors leading to the support for our healthcare system.

Tribal loyalties might be the biggest part, people going along with what their tribal leaders are pushing.

But the business dickheads often do like the cruelty as you say, but also the fact it gives them outsized power over employees, if they quit their jobs or are fired they lose health care as well.

Many of the hardcore religious see it as god’s will. It was preordained with some of them, god wants those people to suffer clearly, and it would be defying god’s will to help them, after all it was preordained I was going to be a selfish dickhead…

What else, there are others. But I would argue the tribal loyalties are the biggest factor here.

As someone that had to take abrupt and extended medical leave and pretty much disappeared from my office for months: Americans should riot every day all day until they get real, significant and payed medical leave with job protections. (And no bullshit with sick days, as I could plan when and how long I will be sick…)

and should an election be held today, Mitch’s absent corpse would win another term… that’s how dumb some people are in Murica
