Plans.
Sunday night can be shit when you’re looking at 40 hours of work, 5 planned lunches, 5 planned dinners, 49vhours if doom scrolling and videogames.
But if you say “Tuesday I’m gonna go for a walk at the local park. I’m gonna see if my friend can join.” You now have something that breaks that monotony to look forward too.
Start small.
That actually sounds useful, thanks. As stupid as the following statement sounds, so I need to sprinkle in highlights.
first full time job at age 20, i was like wtf is this ? 40-50 years of this shit!!! kill me now.
and then planned and schemed to be retired at 30, that kept me going
ended up part time work at 35 and retired at 40, now 61.
only regret is, didn’t retire earlier
how do you retire at 40?
Rice and beans, no car, and invest everything you can, helps if you’re doing proper jobs, installing wind turbines earns you more than a doctor, off shore oil rigs you don’t even need yo pay rent

You can’t do that now.
Training, gym sessions are the most anticipated part of the day and will keep me going until the next session.
Side project(s) to help take my mind off of things. Also, because some things I have to deal with regardless, a pen and paper helps me formulate an “attack plan”:
- what am I supposed to do?
- why?
- how?
- etc.
Friends who for some reason, argue that I deserve an actual life.
Regardless, it is not possible, simply isn’t.
The mental pain alone makes doing anything sober impossible.
