yeah, in fact the previous owner told me when he looked at the house in 1980 he saw that water heater and figured it would go out any day so he bought a brand new and rolled it in with his home loan and left in the barn for when it was needed. The “brand new” water heater has rusted all the way through without ever having been used.
I feel like if you ever replace that water heater you’ll never find one again that lasts that long.
