By mid-September, we received available dates at these arenas through the end of the year. But once they found out these were my benefit shows for Palestine, those dates were suddenly off the table.

The doors were closed. The conversations were all different, but the result was the same. The shows were not going to be allowed to happen in these venues.

“From the beginning, our plan was to bring this tour home to the U.S.

But after weeks of reaching out, nine major American arenas have turned us down.

Madison Square Garden. Prudential Center. Barclays Center. UBS Arena. Intuit Dome. Kia Forum. Crypto.com Arena. Chase Center. Climate Pledge Arena. Here’s what happened…

He can play in my garage. I ain’t got a sound system. Or really anything, but if the big venues won’t put him up. Might as well do smaller more intimate locations.

I think I missed something. He’s doing a new Palestine support tour?

Is this a nice thing for a celebrity to do or is there something shitty going on?

Ed Sheeran dropped him as an opening act a few months(?) ago at the arena’s behest for Macklemore’s outward comments on the genocide

    No US arena tour…

Because all our biggest venues are privately owned by billionaires even though residents pay for them via taxes and get insanely overcharged just by walking near one.

The real problem here is that, cities/states need to just say fuck it and take them.

Immanent Domain, calculate the offered price as value minus what to government and taxpayers already paid for it.

Then the already existing laws would prevent this bullshit.

    Edit:

As a bonus, they wouldn’t be named bullshit like “crypto(dot)com Arena”…

It’s fucked up I didn’t even register how dystopian that is when I quoted it, it’s just so normalized these days.

None of this uber capitalist bullshit has to happen, we can just tell em to fuck off and take our resources back.

Put up a bunch of stops in Canada with a ton of Canadian artists and I’ll show up. I’m still boycotting the US, but I’ll gladly make a minor exception for him and for Palestine if its otherwise a non-American lineup.

I’d uh, watch it on the nationalism bud. Not working out real well here. You’ve got a lot more in common with most Americans than either of us do with our respective governments. Like… boycotting Kid Rock and Metallica etc makes sense, lumping this guy in there is counterproductive, preemptively purity testing his potential lineup is giving me flashbacks to Freedom Fries

I already said I’d make an exception for him and the Palestinian plight. None of that changes the fact that we are being directly threatened by a neighbour. Equating this with freedom fries tells me you’ve lost the plot.

The strong “we” there is the nationalism I was warning against again. Macklemore, like most people, is an individual. I’m glad you’re able to judge him on his own merits. I can’t give exact numbers, but can guarantee most Americans have no interest in threatening you. That’s being done by maybe a few thousand people who are threatening the rest of us too. I’m old, remember “Freedom Fries” all too well, and just don’t like watching history repeat itself yet again. This was not meant as a judgment but a warning, and I sincerely hope you can avoid the same pitfalls that made “us” “your” enemy in the first place. Good luck up there.

the US and UK are compromised and captured by Epstein Class/Israel. Thats the thanks they got for helping save the Zionists in WW2. They average person has been sold out by their own unchristian ‘police’.

Half of London is owned by Russian Oligarchs

WW3 is Workers vs Billionaires and the billionaires hide behind propagandized mainstream media as well as fictional religion.

What better way to attack your opponent if they don’t even notice the attacks?

Goethe was right: ‘None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free.’

They just upgraded the panopticon prison with flock cameras while we were at the rave/watching football/raising families…

He’s always been advocate for progressive rights since day one. It’s also why he’s always been an independent artist, so those in power don’t have control on what he says and does.

Yeh, its ironic when artists get popular for getting involved in political movements that politicians refuse to get involved in. If ever there was need for more evidence that they do not represent their constituents, this is another piece.
