I really want to know if they went full confederate on the roof. It is a flat canvas just waiting for their racism to be plastered all over.

On Pimp My Ride (I think) somebody had a confederate flag on their roof except the colors had been changed to the colors of the Jamaican flag. As a basic layout design it’s pretty cool; as a symbol of men who fought and killed for the right to own human beings and work them literally to death, fuck that flag.

Yeah that’s what I mean, it’s kind of a shame that asshats got a chance to ruin an alright flag design. Like, it should have been a state flag and then the confederate flag should have been a blue flag with a seal on it that says “SHITHEAD TRAITORS” on it.

Eh, it’s alright. My favorite problematic flag is the Iranian one. That border script between the color bands and the white? Classy

  • Sadly, I have been born without a sense of aesthetics, so I actually kind of like the colour. Still, cannot defend the choice of car it is on, or the “01” - which I am uncertain what it is there for. (Attempt at racecar aesthetics? Sports reference I am missing? “I am #1” posturing?)

Dukes of Hazzard is a 70s tv show that featured rednecks that drove around in a car that had the loser confederate flag painted on it.

Running shine and tricking cops. How does the demographic for this show love to lick cop boots so much?

They need to rebel against someone and the powers that be figured out how to redirect them towards a more convenient target.

Then they’re no longer good ol’ boys and they’re meanin’ harm. They’re not beating all you ever saw and they’re laying down for the law since the day they was born.

Probably the white supremacy support for the Confederacy that they have in common bringing them together

      • Oh, seems like I have been thoroughly missing what this is in reference to. My streak of tastelessness remains, as I do still genuinely like the colour, but I have to say, the reference does not work on a car like the Cybertruck, even if it had no other issues. It’s a fundamentally different type of car, it feels like weirdly and randomly mashing things together.

Every once in a while a trend comes along that outs all the village idiots.

I think the Tide Pod challenge was the last one before the Cybercuck.

So, back in the 1970’s there was this television show called the Dukes Of Hazzard. The show was basically Knight Rider for fucksister rednecks, it was mostly an excuse to film car stunts and chase scenes.

The overall plot of the show went thusly: Brothers Bo and Luke Duke who live in Hazzard county, Georgia (hence, they are the Dukes. Of Hazzard). They run moonshine (or commit other vehicular shenanigans) in the General Lee, their souped up bright orange Dodge Charger with a 01 painted on the door, the confederate naval ensign painted on the roof, and a horn that plays the first lick of Dixie. Most episodes would center around outrunning the county sheriff in said treason-themed Chrysler product. Which is what the Cybertruck in the original post is cosplaying as.

The show was also notable for:

      • Bo Duke’s trademark jump/slide over the hood of the car
      • Shooting a bow and arrow with dynamite attached to the arrow
      • The female lead Daisy’s scandalously tiny cutoff jean shorts were so iconic that Americans call denim hot pants “Daisy Dukes” to this day.

I just find it to be ugly in this picture. Seems out of place even on a vehicle that looks terrible.
