All they would have to do is hire a few “federal contractors” to to various parts of hiring payments and so on and just dissolve those companies and any evidence of who was involved.

Why does The Guardian always butcher acronyms? “Ice” looks like the word ice rather than ICE referring to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
In the UK they only capitalize the first letter of an acronym. You’ll also see Nasa, Potus, etc.
There is a long running joke on MetaFilter where anytime someone mentions The Guardian they spell it ‘Grauniad’ in reference to the piss poor editing it has had for like twenty years if not longer. It’s a really old joke on MeFi at this point.
