I’ll come back to Fallout when they fix the dialogue bullshit.
If Fallout Shelter can get it right FFS though I haven’t opened it in years
Read the comments on their update, people are sick of their intentional mod breaking for possible income.
At this point it just seems like Bethesda is pettily jealous of mod makers for producing better content than anything they’ve wiped out of Todd’s ass crack in the last 15 years.
Modders already fixed the game. Why does Todd keep breaking it for no reason?
Money.
Fallout 4 – Patch Notes/New Features Creations Menu: A new in-game Creations menu has been added, making it easier than ever to discover, download and enjoy content from professional developers and passionate enthusiasts alike.
And to keep the game a bit more relevant. Season 2 of the show is about to drop in a little over a week so they’re probably gearing up for that.
But imo, I don’t give a shit about updates to a game I play maybe once a year at most. If people are really that upset about an update to a game, go play something else until the mods are updated too. It really shouldn’t take long, and I’m honestly tired of seeing so many people removed and moaning on every single post every single time this game gets updated.
“I’m sick and tired of other people expressing their frustration. Stop being annoyed and then talking about it! It’s annoying and I’m talking about it!”

Not all mods are going to get updated. Some will just get broken and never fixed.
It’s very obnoxious for Bethesda to be dropping “updates” nobody asked for on a ten year old game.
Damn I guess Todd Howard said “fuck SSTF in particular” and told his team to update the game.

Fallout London Downgrader tool my beloved
LOL Oh Bethesda, fucking up as always. The Steam Forums are LIVID about this latest tomfoolery by the incompetent Todd Howard squad.
You can, of course, also disable the game’s ability to auto-update and keep on playing the pre-anniversary update version of it. Instructions as to how to do that on Steam, Epic, and GOG can be found here.
Fuck you, Steam, and your fucking forces updates constantly breaking my games.
Your quote is how to disable updates. How is this then “forced” on you if it can be easily disabled?
Difference in terminology here. He was meaning to say “forced update” not “they are forcing me to update”
A forced update is an update that is pushed without user approval. Being forced to update means that you do not have an alternative to updating.
They can push forced updates, but have an option to disable them. Theyre still forced, but theyre not forcing them on you.
So then every update for every game is a “forced update” by the description “pushed without user approval”.
It may be an “unpopular update” but it isn’t forced.
It is 100% forced. Don’t know about this specific game but number of Steam games must be updated to play them and fiddling with versions is hit and miss.
Yeah some games have online components that must be updated to work.
No, it applies to a number of single player games, the same games which don’t need any updates when purchased on GoG. It is Steam forced updates policy in play.
I’ve not come across a single player game where I wanted to pause updates and couldn’t. I guess you found them.
In any case, it isn’t a Steam policy, the developer must disable the ability to pause updates on their game as part of the manifest they upload to Steam. So, crappy developers.
ive been waiting to play fallout 4… last time i looked to buy was after the fo4 london mod drop… then that seemed intentionally messed up … uhg. i guess i’ll wait more.
(yes i know i can stop updates and mods for that … but as a long time skyrim modder… its best tk wait if i value a playthru)
Fallout London does have a dedicated installer on GOG separate from the main game (and they provide instructions on how to downgrade the game so it remains compatible with fallout london and to run it as a separate game instance), so you do have options even if you play before/after this update drops.
I basically had two installs for fallout 4 - base game + mods, and the Fallout London full conversion + mods. I could switch between them on the fly.
