That’s one way to make me go to the cinema after how they massacred The Hobbit even if I think it’s intended to appease those that hated The Rings of Power as much as I did The Hobbit ;)
I recently saw that animated version of The Hobbit from the 70s. I was wary of it, but it was surprisingly good. That’s my head canon now. I’ll try to forget the modern cinematic money grab.
It’s about Bombadil. So, i don’t really care, but fingers crossed that it doesn’t suck.
I’ve already seen comments online that Colbert is a super fan and famous enough to keep corporate/executive meddling to a minimum… Ask The Witcher how that worked out. I seriously hope I’m wrong.
It’s about the best character absent from the movies?? I read somewhere yesterday that it was gonna adapt the end parts of Return of the King that were absent from the movie? Battle for the Shire or something after the hobbitses come home and find the Shire enslaved.
How would that work, tho? They killed Sharky in Isengard…
I saw part of the interview. It’s gonna be the chapters covering Tom Bombadillo.
Oh man, now I’m even more excited, I learned a little about him from the Battle for Middle Earth 2 RTS. Every time I learn more about him, I think he’s an even better character than I thought before.
Colbert has barely any experience in writing a fantasy script. Just look at his imdb page. I next to zero hope for this.
Watch the video at the end of the Deadline article. Colbert demonstrates that he has the chops. Besides, it’s pretty damn funny.
