Anecdotally, every article of Hanes clothing I have ever worn has been of remarkably poor quality.
Can confirm – i have the same socks and they fucking suck. They started wearing through in like 3 or 4 months. Trying out some Duluth socks.
I’m a dress socks guy, but yes, I have some old socks that were comfortable, the elasticity was perfect. New socks are either stiff, shitty elastic, bad material. I cannot find good ones anywhere, besides one brand in particular. I used to go to express or men’s wearhouse and they had great socks (and boxers), and it’s like those are t a thing anymore.
I use Tesco workman’s socks (I imagine UK only) and step one underwear - really good, but have been advertising recently, so I don’t know if they are enshiterfying.
Boxers from Costco, the 32° COOL brand or whatever, do not disappoint.
I get kirky boxer briefs and I’m very much satisfied with them. Unfortunately I just went to Costco yesterday, and the odds I remember your suggestion the next time I go are incredibly slim, but maybe I will!
