Hey now, don’t call them eggs, let them come to the conclusion of transition on their own.

    Also, in the fridge.

However, the fridge slows down biological activity so it may take them longer to reach the conclusion

Eggs should be kept in the back of the fridge. Constant temperature changes reduce freshness.

    Put them with the plebs

If I keep them at the back of the fridge they’ll freeze onto the back wall so that sounds worse.

I only move eggs into the door if I can be bothered or run out of space to keep the box on a shelf and have never noticed a difference - I wonder if you’ve noticed this yourself or are just repeating advice? I don’t really see how changes in temperature are likely to affect anything.

I feel like making a joke about the eggs wanting to be treated like royalty and the rest of the produce voting them to that position against they’re self interest. But I can’t quite crack the right wording.

Eggs shouldn’t be kept in the fridge at all. They are also not in the cooled section of the store. Why do people put them in the fridge for no reason.

They last about two weeks longer when refrigerated. I wasn’t eating a dozen eggs quickly enough, which is why I refrigerated them.

I’ve seen Finnish food-safety officials say that it doesn’t matter much if they’re in the fridge or not, but their temperature shouldn’t change too variably too often or something. So fridge door maybe not the best location.

Unless you leave the fridge door open for extended periods of time, they shouldn’t really heat up from just opening the door and closing it. They have some thermal mass of their own

You mean Eggs watching the rest of the kitchen from their private egg basket. I do not get why people put eggs in the fridge, they last a good amount of time just fine sitting out on the bench.

In us eggs are washed which apparently removes the protective layer and hence need to be refrigerated.

How long do they need to last, regardless of where they are? Don’t you eat them?

Is it bad somehow to put them in the fridge, even if unnecessary?
