The fact that he’s never repudiated this shit, and apologized for the harm he did, makes you heavily believe that he suppressed this stuff for his own financial and business interests, not because of an earnest change of heart.
I was never a Geerling guy, I watched a video or two at random just because I liked the Raspberry Pi before the pricing on it went loony toons, but Geerling now has the auspicious place of being a channel I actively go out of my way to avoid.
That reply screams to me “I made this post when people werent able to share information so freely and so easily attack me, but now it spreads like wildfire and thats just not fair to me and my bigoted beliefs, why can no one give me the same charity I give those child murdering sluts who have abortions?!”
Well, the Jeff Geerling stuff is disappointing. I watched him only occasionally when some video title interested me, but I don’t think I can watch the videos (and so indirectly support him) in good conscience.
The fact he didn’t apologise is telling, especially in the context of his replies:

This is a pretty old article on the site, and I’m guessing by the title (haven’t read through it) it would not be deemed ‘culturally appropriate’ these days.
I never watched more than a few videos, he rubbed me the wrong way from the start acting like an expert on things that he clearly wasn’t, banking on the assumption that his audience isn’t either. That kind of attitude isn’t usually confined to one aspect of your output so I’m not surprised.
