It’s not just MAGA yelling that, it’s pretty much the entire political “establishment”.

Schumer and Jeffries are the guy on the right too. Hopefully they get booted from leadership real soon now.

We were promised hoverboards! We didn’t even get hoverboards! Was all of Back to the Future just a lie? The future sucks.

Instead we have artificial trees for metropolitan areas made of algae that do the same CO2 to O2 processing. Those can be hundreds of meters tall tho.

Utopianism is a centuries-old pursuit. And, in its defense, the pursuit of a utopia has yielded a steady crop of genuinely beneficial human achievements.

But I do think people mistake being young and naive with being on the cusp of a brighter future. As though US politics wasn’t a clown-car full of bigots, sex-pests, and greedy fuckwits under Bush or Reagan or Nixon.

We are a nation that yearns for a New Deal but refuses to acknowledge the real possibility of a Great Depression past every horizon. We want another Lincoln to lead us, but are scared shitless of a new Civil War. We want to go at the Constitution with a Sharpie and an eye towards the 21st century, but we don’t want to endure the Revolution that comes with it.

At least they had the decency to pretend to be better people.

These days that clown car also has flashing lights and loud noises.

“Yeah, I’m going to need €50 billion for the suspended monorail to make a very tight sweeping arc alongside the valley. No I don’t care it’ll only be able to do 30 km/h, it’ll look sick”.

Yeah this looks sick, but even practical aspects of the monorail aside, I don’t think this would be nice to live in, at least without some improvements that would detract from the beauty.

It looks like just getting together to hang out from people living in other buildings can be an absolute pain. There need to be some common areas easily accessible from all buildings.
