That’s every molecule in your body
Just for that, I shall never pee again.
Edit: DAMMIT
So if you think about it… every time we pee, we’re peeing in someone’s mouth
Every shower is a golden shower.
Same with beer if you think about it.
“You don’t buy beer, you only rent it.”
I say that every time I take a drunken piss in a bar.
and you never really eat corn.
I mean, you eat the insides, just the kernal casings are indigestible to us.
(The kernels are full of poop. Poop balloons)
I wonder: how many water molecules I’ve drank were Hitler’s piss once?
neil degrasse tyson had a fun take on this. There are more molecules of water in a single cup of water, than there are cups of water in all of earth’s water. So without a doubt water molecules used by any number of historical figures have almost certainly also been used by you. Genghas khan, Caesar, Einstein, etc.
I’m not clear on how long ago the person must have lived for the chances to be near certain or not.
Same with air molecules.
Not zero

Sorry for the downvote, I hate seeing this face.
it’s ok. it’s deserved.
It is fun to ponder how the hydrogen from the very start is in us now, and was in comets, dinosaurs and giant trees that died long ago and gave up their elements that could be in us now. As wise people said, “You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop” and “We are a way for the universe to know itself… on this pale blue dot.”
“You are the cosmos made conscious” - Brian Cox
“…you’re not something that’s a result of the big bang. You’re not something that is a sort of puppet on the end of the process. You are still the process. You are the big bang, the original force of the universe, coming on as whoever you are.” - Alan Watts
“Allow yourself to fantasy that you’re 13.8 million years old And you’re part of this incredible ocean of happening Instead of just this one individual Just let yourself experience that for a second The glorious knowledge that you are a never-ending, ever-changing flow of matter that’s temporarily manifested with the ability to express love” - Dunkin Trussel
Almost all hydrogen in the universe was formed mere seconds after the Big Bang
That’s pretty incredible to think about
If you don’t mind me plugging where I got it from:
Title
It’s the first episode of the Crash Course: The Universe. Dr. Katie Mack did a great job recontextualizing multiple scientific phenomenon.
Unfortunately a lot of physics explanations have gotten very cookie-cutter, and she managed to break free of that. I’ve only listened to kne episode so far, but the rest are in my queue
And anything heavier than iron (IIRC, it’s late here) is only formed when a star dies.
The more violent the death, the heavier more exotic shit gets created, as a rule.

True of literally everything in life. It’s just our turn to hold matter in this form and experience consciousness. Our planet is a virtually closed system wherein everything is recycled.
(Yes, I know we get water from comets, and perhaps even biological material from asteroids, etc., but in the relatively short term, all of that has been incorporated and we’re living in a virtually closed system.)
Our planet almost certainly loses tons of matter to space daily
606024=86400*3=259.2 mtons of hydrogen and meh im too nonsober to type that into a calculator twice so 5ish mtons of hehe? TBH I hedged my bets in the prefix to tons above, but this is an order of magnitude more than I figured. And with that ratio I’m sure hydrogen and helium are 99.999999% of that mass too.
The universe is an engine that converts hydrogen to helium, and we are the pollutants caused by the imperfections of the engine. All hail nuclear fusion, for it is light. Let it burn bright, for the ratio of fuel to exhaust is already 3:1, and one cannot bring back the purity of hydrogen once it is spent. Live for the dying of the light!

I love this and will be stealing it! Really puts Sagan’s “we are all made of stardust” in quite a different context 🤣
“From my rotting corpse plants will grow.”
Fuck that I’m going to live forever. Or die trying
Same goes for shit like CO2, my fave is the CO2 tanks with Bev grade CO2 that were formerly Nazi or US Army tanks from WW2
Oldest CO2 tank I’ve seen in rotation was from 1932.
The US ones still say US Army just painted over, the Nazi ones still have their swastikas just with a few extra bits punchd to make it not a swastika and more of a window shape.
I tried to look up Nazi CO2 tanks but for some reason I only found Zyklon B :(
Here’s an example, not of a Nazi tank but just an old as fuck one

Fuck spez.
Our water, comrade
It’s so nice to know that I’m drinking a small part of (insert favourite enemy)'s pee.
And also (insert favorite pornstar’s) pee! And some of mine!
A man’s flesh is his own; the water belongs to the tribe.
He gives water for the dead!
I’m hoarding quite some amount of water in my flesh.
The ownership of your flesh is temporary.
I want to be roasted and fed to the guests of my funeral.
It’s only fair that you have to fatten and tenderize yourself in preparation when the time comes.
If you’ve ever had trichinosis make sure they know to cook you thoroughly.
it’s not like I’m RFK Jr or something…
“This is the best pork I’ve ever had!”
Water isn’t yours.
It’s Nestlé’s.
