It would be hilarious if Greenland intercepted them and deported them.
To El Salvador.
Even better: To Russia
They absolutely should.
The level disrespect the Americans are showing to the rest of the world - with the exception of Russia, of course - is astounding.
Where did all my red scare pat’rats go?
They left the chat when the Chicago School took over Russia.
That was under Yeltsin and didn’t last long. The inevitable transition from unregulated markets to privatization, oligopoly and corruption only lasted a couple or three years, and at the end of it, Putin was in power.
That is the direct and innevitable consequence of the Chicago School’s Shock Doctrine. Much like what we are seeing in the US happen at a slightly slower pace since Reagan.
And Israel, but that’s nothing new either.
Birds of a nazi feather, I guess
What baffles me is that neither Denmark nor Greenland have demanded that the US close Pituffik, the base that the US has there. It’s one thing to have a world leader threaten to take your territory by force. But in this case, the Danish are literally hosting the military of the country that’s threatening to invade. To me, that reeks of someone threatening to break into your house and you offering to let them use the spare bedroom.
It more reeks of the guy you let sleep on your sofa asking to meet with you to transfer the title of your house to him.
Maybe consider thanking him next time he eats all your eggs. /s
When the Australian pm tried to close a USA base. He as democratic elected pm got dismissed with the help of CIA involvement. To be fair Australia didn’t get a really bloody coup. But is sends out a message to your “friends”. Trump probably thinks it would be a act of war anyway and a legit reason to sell at home to invade.
Trump probably thinks it would be a act of war anyway
To the extent that Trump thinks at all, he’s going to come up with an excuse regardless of what Denmark does.
The main argument against the annexation of Greenland right now is that Denmark is already letting the US do more or less what they want militarily. If Denmark pushes them out, they’ll have a much more legitimate reason to annex the island.
Plus it’s not really going to make a difference whether they have a base there or not if they decide to annex it, it’s not like Denmark is going to be able to mount any kind of opposition to US military.

Well, there is no “legitimate” reason to annex the island. Second, this is just capitulation with extra steps. And we’ve already seen what capitulation gets you with the Trump administration. Trump wants something, others capitulate in hopes to appease him. Trump decides he wants it anyway, and makes up an excuse to do it. It’s the exact same thought process every time.
It’s even playing out here. Trump wants Greenland, Denmark is letting the US do what they want anyway, and Trump is saying that’s not enough any more and now he just wants the whole thing. This is what capitulation gets you.
Plus it’s not really going to make a difference whether they have a base there or not if they decide to annex it, it’s not like Denmark is going to be able to mount any kind of opposition to US military.
First, you still don’t allow a country threatening to invade and annex your territory to set up a base in your home country. This would be like Ukraine preparing for Russia’s invasion by allowing Putin to park his tanks in Kyiv. And second, not that I want this to happen, but I would hope that the rest of the EU would stand up to an actual show of force to defend Greenland from a US invasion, leading to a US vs. EU standoff. Granted, that scenario would probably make Putin come in his pants, but it’s still what should happen.
If the rest of the EU would be willing to just stand back and let the US take Greenland, then the EU needs to decide if it wants to be ruled by either Russia or the US. Because just like Putin won’t stop at Ukraine, Trump isn’t going to stop over Denmark. It also means that all of those security treaties that both the US and European countries have around the world won’t mean squat since it would show that the EU won’t even protect the territory of one of its member nations, let alone a foreign threat, leading to side effects such as Russia making more aggressive moves to rebuild the USSR, China taking Taiwan, and NATO either dissolving because of the US/Denmark issue or just being relegated to a paper tiger unwilling to actually interfere beyond lip service.
Ms. Vance is scheduled to make a series of cultural stops after her arrival on Thursday, separate from Mr. Waltz. The national security adviser is supposed to be traveling earlier in the week with the U.S. energy secretary, Chris Wright.
First, don’t meet with them. Don’t give them a diplomatic escort, but maybe follow them around with a few troops in case you want to stop them going to certain places. Or don’t let them in at all.
I assume they plan to land at the US military base–I don’t know if that means they don’t have to ask permission to enter Greenland’s airspace and land? But depending on how much Denmark wants to scale up the tensions, they could either refuse them permission to land or let them land but refuse to let them exit the US base into Greenland’s territory.
Either way, start procedures to close the base and kick them out. They’ve given more than enough justification by threatening Greenland. Whether you really want to close the base or not, threaten to and then you can negotiate for some kind of payment to let the base stay. That’s what trump would do and what he would respond to. You have to stand up to a bully or they’ll never stop bullying you.

Divert then to Jutland due to “inclement weather.” If they question it, tell them they could have checked their own NOAA forecast if they hadn’t gutted the agency.
Arrest them.
Wanna start a war? Fuckin do it.
They’ll piss and moan over shit for weeks and then let them out with a warning, come back next time you might not leave.
Just let people know where they will be. I expect the population to tell the Americans where to head.
So, something they can learn from the US. It’s fine to arrest someone upon landing, vanish them for a few weeks in horrid conditions, then send them home with shaved heads on a military plane.
I recommend they dry run it with this “delegation” .
I don’t see how doing this to a couch would help.
Don’t Take No For An Answer: Global Diplomacy for Rapists.
Deny them access to land their plane
There is a US base in Greenland. Let them land but refuse to let the them leave the base.
They’re going to try and plant a flag.
That would be a literal declaration of war.
Not that he won’t do it as a publicity stunt. But just saying that showing up as a world leader and planting your flag in their territory while threatening to annex them is a literal declaration of war.
We may be long past “things you don’t say and do if you don’t want war”. The only saving grace so far is that the rest of the world doesn’t want a conflict, so they’re playing it out and hoping something internally happens to avoid a mess.
That psycho marde-a-lardo plastic surgery faced wank job lady Krusty Noem who sucks off Trimp did that to Canada: https://www.yahoo.com/news/kristi-noem-takes-bizarre-revenge-194755346.html.
Yes. I too would like to unsubscribe from the Baker Mayfield school of international relations.
