An older man I work with used to work at Kenworth back in the early 90’s. He told me a story about a guy working the assembly lines installing the truck frame’s to the cab, he had a heart attack and died right on the spot. The floor shift manager instead of calling 911 ran over and grabbed his leg and dragged him away from the line and yelled at everyone to “Get back to fucking work!” He guys body laid there for 4hrs before medical staff arrived.
It is horrible, but the title is quite misleading.

My guess is risk of letting an untrained employee help was risk. The first person started cpr before management got there or they would have stopped them too.

Its not misleading, both claims are true. If people refuse to read articles and only read headlines thats not on the author.
OP’s version was indeed misleading, making us suppose there was a corpse on the warehouse floor for a week while management covered it up & made everyone keep working around it.

If false is your bar for misleading, nothing is ever misleading. Misleading statements need to be true to be misleading, otherwise they’re just lies.
I’m more saying headlines dont contain all the context required, thats what the article is for. Article titles can’t be misleading unless you won’t read the article.

In america, you’re lucky to get unpaid sick leave instead of just being terminated for coming in anyway whenever demanded by your owner.
Sometimes they geniuenly get pissed you didn’t tell them you will be sick in two weeks beforehand.

The problem is that there are a lot of smaller businesses that now rely on Amazon as a distributor. I often will go to order something directly from a site only to be redirected to Amazon. I recently ordered something directly from a site and then later was getting messages from amazon services about my package status. It really confused me at first since I avoid them at all costs.
Speaking of costs, no one is paying extra for others to be exploited. Most items are cheaper on Amazon, likely as a result of the exploitation. When I try to convince people to switch this is the biggest argument I get back. “But everything is cheaper on amazon!” “But you know why… Right??”
I agree with everything else you said, but oftentimes the reason an item is cheaper on Amazon is they have a clause that in order to sell on Amazon the item cannot be cheaper on another platform. Amazon controls enough of the market that sellers still need to sell through them for volume, but it’s just a way to lock customers into the platform by exploiting sellers.
Know? Sure. To the extent they can kniw something inconvenient. Care? Ew. Gross. No.
Cutting Amazon out of my life has improved my life a lot.
I now buy books from a local shop lead by a huge sci-fi and manga nerd. She’s recommended so many great books I never would have found otherwise.
I try to buy as many things as possible locally, but sadly that’s often impossible (or wildly worse) now.
But when I do buy online, I buy from smaller independent shops specializing on the thing I’m buying.That’s the thing:

I agree OP calls it a horror but the truth is most people will accept it as long as convenient parcels still arrive. They didn’t know the person and don’t care. I was an amazon user but cut it out. I was fallible but changed.
Ask people if they would give up their parcels…most look at me like I am crazy.
Unfortunately, such actions are unlikely to have a big impact on Amazon. Their cash cow is AWS, not the actual online store.
Sometimes when I buy things on ebay, they are shipped by Amazon anyway. I wonder if there’s a way to avoid this?
These sellers post the same items on every marketplace and use their Amazon marketplace to fulfill it. It’s easier to manage inventory and deal with shipping. So you never really know who’s just shipping from Amazon.
The only way to avoid it is to buy from businesses directly, and not from the marketplaces they run.
