The “enlightened world” is clearly one which regards themselves as superior and other “less enlightened” people as deserving of genocide.

Sheldon had a lifetime total donation figure of $273 million, while as of the publishing of their profile, Miriam had a total of $284 million.[6]

Miriam Adelson has been described by major news outlets, including Reuters and Bloomberg, as a significant financial supporter of pro-Israel political causes in the United States, contributing substantial funding to Republican-aligned political initiatives and organizations supporting U.S.–Israel relations.

    Wow.

MAGA will absolutely not shut up about George Soros and Jewish conspiracies, but… this is okay?

    It’s what’s so frustrating.

It seems the Democrat side absolutely revels in peeling each other apart (see: Lemmy), but US Republicans have horse blinders on. Their leaders can do no wrong; unity comes first. They will rail and rail and rail on something the Democrats are doing when their own party is already doing it too.

…I know why, or at least I think I do.

It all ties into “worship culture” and parasocial relationships like the evangelical church, talk radio, Tech Bros, and similar structures that seem to occur more in conservative zones. It’s a pseudo-religious “unity and belief” mindset.

…And Democrat’s indulgence in ragebait. And tribalism.

But it’s still crazy. Democrats will eat each other alive over some tiny detail or controversy, but even raging internet antisemites, who proudly follow Trump, will slide their eyes right over this little detail.

Except it isn’t that he doesn’t want to murder iranians any more. It’s that he put himself in a lose-lose situation and he somehow doubled down and made the loss even worse.

Completely unrelated but hindsight being 20/20 the warning signs were always there with moderated centralized forums like reddit.

I have my same reddit acct I’ve had for 15+ years. I’m banned from few aubreddits but my first and most memorable was from AskReddit for doxxing myself. To remove the ban they told me I had to draw a picture of some stupid shit like a giraffe in a Santa hat because it was Christmas or something. That was when I realized I don’t want anything to do with these stupid ass moderators power tripping over a users engagement on a forum. Absolutely asinine.

yeah, I’d also ask: what more could we give them that hasn’t been given already? also, it just illustrates how there’s no offramp, no future peace with this government - Bibi knows only perpetual war will keep him in power, and maybe out of jail, so they’re all out for it and thought trump would be dumb enough to go even further.

it’s pretty mind boggling. he is really dumb tho so…maybe they think they can neg him into it? fuck…

The true source of the problem is Israeli zionists knowing that what they print in their country has actual influence over the policies and decisions of the leader of a foreign state. That just shouldn’t matter to the USA president. Our leaders should be mindful of how our nation appears in the eyes of the world, but a USA leader should wipe their ass with direct confrontation like this when they refuse to do zionists’ biddings.

You could have been the greatest president of all

    No, he couldn’t have

    You betrayed us, the Israelis.

I realize I don’t necessarily speak for all of my fellow Americans when I say this, but I could not possibly care less if Israelis feel betrayed by Trump. He’s not your president, it’s not your government, go fuck yourselves.

How can a US president betray “Israelis”. He’s not their president, and America is not their mommies. We owe them exactly nothing. They should get off our tit, and we’d like all the nuclear materials they stole from us returned immediately.

Without the large amount of material and monetary support America provides to keep Israel’s military the strongest in the region, they would get steamrolled by their neighbors. Probably not immediately, but it would be inevitable. Note that I’m not saying anything about whether this is right or wrong from any ethical point of view in any direction, simply that it absolutely would happen. For whatever reason it has consistently been the policy of the American government not to let this happen.

Israel’s very existence as a modern state has been, shall we say, deeply unpopular with its Arab neighbors literally since day one.

They also give our surveillance state their surveillance tech and cyberweapons they developed using Palestinians as guinea pigs. They host our police departments and teach them how to treat our citizenry like Palestinians as well.

Agreed. People on online politics spaces tend to be very informed and assume the average person is similarly informed. From convos I’ve overheard or the amount of basic questions I’ve had to answer, I don’t think the average American has even heard of Gaza/West Bank/Palestine/Hamas or Netanyahu and probably only know Israel because it’s in the Bible.
