    Conspiracy theories are controlled opposition.

Tell people to be mad at a made up shadow cabinet of rich lizard people who run the world in secret so they won’t be mad at the actual, real, existing cabinet of rich human people who run the world out in the open.

I think it’s important to understand, these people believe that they already control the world. From their perspective, they aren’t “trying”, they’re doing. And they believe they have the right to do so. They believe that having wealth makes them more important and more capable than everyone else, even though the reality is often that having wealth separates them from having to actually do anything for themselves, making them less capable and less experienced than everyone else.

The rest of us, our needs, our concerns, our desires, our lives… none of that matters to them, except when it either enables or impedes getting what they want.

The only thing preventing the entire world from being stuck in complete, abject despotism is that these people are often at each other’s throats. When they collude, everything they touch turns to garbage.

Imagine fighting a long war where one side knows they are fighting the war, and a vast majority of the other side thinks they are trying to help them.

There’s no war other than class war. We’ve been fighting it for centuries. Remember that.

That’s the hope. I’m sure there are a handful of billionaires who are decent enough people, tech co-founders who didn’t get all weird about the tech money. But the other 98% are legit sociopaths. They can’t co-exist for long, they’re all secretly undercutting each other. It’s in their nature.

One possible future is letting the dragons fight it out, and picking off the stragglers. Fingers crossed 🤞

The retreat is scheduled for August 12–16 at a venue near Dublin, Ireland.

The original version of the source article identified the location as the Powerscourt Hotel; in an act of journalistic cowardice (to be expected from a Condé Nast Publication) Wired later edited their article to remove that detail “to address a security concern raised by a Dialog representative”.

Esquire is unsurprisingly sticking with Wired’s “near Dublin” description of the location, but fortunately it looks like some Irish media outlets (eg this and this) are reporting where it actually is so hopefully there will be some local opposition present.

Shadow cabal and oligarchy aren’t mutually exclusive. Seems to me the oligarchs are just the more obvious nodes of the shadow cabal web, the fuckers with the money and power that can go on TV and talk directly to senators.

Go one step back away from the limelight and you get dudes like Cheney, Bannon, people who interact with all the obvious oligarchs but don’t need to post on social media and don’t need to stay relevant to constituents. And then people like Epstein, agents in the field gathering blackmail.

Shit is pretty fucking crazy tbh.

A family of old money wealthy oligarchs who founded the state of Israel and set up Epstein to blackmail politicians in the west to continue to fund their genocidal state at their citizens behest. A little more complicated when you add generations of oligarchs with nefarious agendas. Even if the problem boils down to that these oligarchs have millions brainwashed to defend them and their agenda through tribalism and media propaganda. I agree that most of the world’s problems have boiled down to the wealthy but that is an oversimplification when you don’t factor in the “conspiracy” meaning the nefarious plots to maintain and grow their power and the control they hold over our “democracies”.

            Great comment.

Refreshing contrast to the murmuring misdirections away from the man behind the curtain as if he didn’t exist.

“Wealth of nations” springs to mind, and how much the Rothschild empire was worth in 1900…

Some seem not even looking to the likes of the BIS, or… or even to any power players, other than those puppets that are loudly presented to them.

… Like (if this isn’t too much of a poetic mangle of metaphors) the fish oblivious to water, they’re kept degrees of separation away from realising the condition and context of the water, like that they’re in a polluted sea of misinformation where everybody’s a shill, and that flocking together in confirmation biased shoals echo-chambering to boost confidence in naive-realist stubbornly-held narratives isn’t sound epistemology to help them help the situation. Could be time to climb on out of the water and evolve.

Do you have spaceships yet? And the reassurance no one is trying to take yours because they have their own too? Spaceships for everybody.

with the implication being, with the prolific provision of the emancipatory technologies, even the richest are better off.

Recently, something was pointed out to me that made me realise, even if in some grand Robin Hood style remedy to the vast economic iniquity, instead the money just went “*poof*”, even then, even they[and us all]'d still be better off. The economy would adjust, and even they would have more buying power, the monopoly’s “anti-competitive” brakes would be taken off the economy, and the target would be taken off their back.

… But can you imagine the psychology in the psycho oligarch class… the game theory that would be spinning in their grand-narcissistic delusion of superiority and their absence of caring… How many of them would still be foolishly thinking “but if I were the only one who did not lose all their wealth, I would have total dominion over the world! Muhahahahah”!.

Oh to get each and all out of the malconditioned short-looping separationist win delusion, and into the longer now.

I have an issue with and a genocidal colonial project run by an evil cabal of oligarchs who are blackmailing our politicians. Israel does not represent a religion. It’s you who are the bigot. And history shows that EVERY time they felt their wealth and power were genuinely threatened, they conceded both. You don’t even need a bloody revolution, they just need to see that it is a possibility before their thin skin starts crawling.

The british monarchy saw the french revolution and invented the parliamentary system. The robber barron’s saw the communist revolutions in the east and suddenly the new deal, suffrage, and civil rights. Today, the billionaires are outclassed and out numbered worse than either of those examples, and will crumple like a paper tiger the second their facade is broken. All they have is their propaganda networks to protect them.

I think Rogan believes he’s in charge though. He talks like he’s making his own decisions.

Undoubtedly he’s being manipulated but yeah at the very least he’s a useful idiot.

Has he had on Timothy Mellon, the second largest political contributor after Elon Musk in the last election cycle? Has he had on the Uihleins or the Adelsons?

Only a small subset of the people making huge political donations want publicity, and only an even smaller subset of those are interesting enough that Joe Rogan would do a podcast with them.

Don’t think that most of them are interesting in a macabre way like Thiel or Musk. Most are old, crotchety assholes who inherited vast fortunes who aren’t interesting, don’t seek publicity, and just want to remake the world without pesky democracy interfering.

A lot of the griftiest sorts have to make public appearances to sell their poison pills (such as elon’s meme stock.) So them also being on rogan says they are particularly scammy.
