Then fucking take his power away! Migrate everything away from diesel using the money you do have while you still have it. Yes it will hurt but it’s going to hurt a lot less then letting Lucy pull the football away everytime she’s bored.

Sadly its not going to happen. There are millions of people who have no clue what is happening or just don’t care.

Nice to see Americans on both sides of the aisle admitting unrestrained free market capitalism is a bad idea, even if this is a very poor move economically

There’s part of me that thinks all this is intentional. 2008 showed the rich that how much they could profit off a worldwide crisis. And he has perfectly manufactured one for seemingly no reason.

Economic crises are never an accident. They’re either imposed onto countries through embargoes, or they’re induced from the inside by people who have something to gain from a crumbling civilization. It’s not like people don’t see the Ai bubble is a bubble. Yet those with all the wealth still double down on it. To build a house, you first have to destroy the one that was there. Like their plans for Gaza, but applied to the entire world economy as a whole.

I mean the reason has been obvious since his first presidency. He’s unwilling to let go of power. He will use any tool to keep it.

        Same with money.

As much as I agree with the sentiment that the companies are willing to profit off of a crisis wether manufactured or organic, I have a hard time seeing non-orange buffoons changing his mind. Talk sure, but domestic companies wouldn’t want to miss out on the external opportunities. Let alone the external pressure that would be put on the multinational companies to keep the fuel flowing. Republicans aren’t going to win the election making this happen this late, given how long the tail is in diesel pricing. It’ll take months to bring it down even if they flipped the switch now. It also ignores sourcing and more of the complexity of the entire industry.

And it will do nothing to lower the price of diesel in the United States. These diesel processing plants and their pipelines are already at full speed. If you cut off shipments to other countries, they’re going to reduce output, they have to. So now they’re going to reduce output for gasoline as well and all other types of fuels that we extract from oil. This is going to have a snowball effect and it’s going to increase all fuel prices across the board in the United States. And as the article States, through the rest of the world too.

This is Trumponomics. He’s a fucking idiot and doesn’t know what he’s doing. I can’t imagine how he bankrupted two fucking casinos.

It’s so frustrating because commodities are the narrow category of things that actually obey the principals of Econ101. It’s also the one area where conservatives and backward-thinkers are not trying to apply the principals of Econ101.

To be clear, this will raise prices for Americans even more as well. Since we don’t have enough refinement this would simply cause less diesel to be created overall, reducing supply overall.

I’m just guessing here but I have a suspicion that the refineries on the Gulf of Mexico coast don’t have capacity and would idle, rather than continue to produce without anywhere to send or store it. It’s not always a throttle that can be adjusted, it may be an on/off kind of thing.

USA released most of their reserves when kegsbreath launched a war to close the Strait of Hormuz and I guess now they’re feeling the pressure.

So if he cuts US exports to the rest of the world, what stops the rest of the world also cutting exports to the US? Does the US have the capacity to be self sufficient in this? Because Donnie seems to think that the relationship works one way.

What I see happening is that everyone else also stops exports of crude and diesel to the US and the situation only gets worse.
