Literally. But I’m doubly fucked in the sense of being a responsible adult because when my boyfriend hears me open the fridge, he will immediately go: Honey, I’ll make you something. I’m 99% sure he is possessed by the ghost of a Mediterranean mom.

He’s taken to making me fucking brunch everyday since he went on summer break. Soft boiled egg, oatmeal porridge with cinnamon sugar and small dollop of butter, a plate of cherries, pineapple, grapes, cucumber and carrots. The occasional pastry for dessert if he SENSES I’d like it. I never have to tell him anything. He just knows.

    I don’t deserve him.

As unromantic as it sounds, we agreed long ago that marriage wasn’t in the cards for us. So no rings, but we definitely are each other’s Precious ❤️

Yeah, he is pretty great. A unicorn of a person, if I may be so humble. His students have described him as “too perfect”. I don’t disagree. I used to joke that he was the second coming of christ but instead of saving the world he decided to dedicate his life to saving my chaotic ass. I dont take it for granted.

For breakfast, 1 serving honey from the jar and 1 serving apple butter also from the jar. Lunch will be every pepperoni in the house. Dinner is handfuls of shredded cheese paired with a few bites of a raw carrot and frozen cookie dough for dessert.

If you’re going to eat the cheese straight, why not just get the un-shredded version? Then you can cut chunks off, or alternatively just bite it straight off the block.

Because the regular cheese was the snacking cheeses and I ate the last of it days ago. Keep forgetting to stop at the store on the way home so now I’m surviving on ingredient cheese.

Lost the cheese after I took it out of the fridge, put it down, grabbed a knife, and turned around and it was gone. Started looking for it, forgot what I was doing and why I had a knife. 15 minutes later I’m in the living room shaving a yak with a kitchen knife and my wife walked in, looked at me and asked me why there was a block of cheese on the TV stand, completely ignoring the fact that I’m shaving a yak with a kitchen knife in the living room.

I like the apple butter on toast, although my husband has been known to eat it from the jar with a spoon!

I keep baby carrots washed and on the top shelf of the fridge, along with apples and such, for just this purpose.

my adhd ass loves cooking. but I can’t plan, so at best I do groceries for one or two meals, and have little to no other food at home.

Same, I’m an excellent cook and can make about anything, but I end up eating the same things almost every day unless I get a blessed wind of inspiration.

Highly recommend meal kit delivery services. You spend a few minutes every month picking out recipes that look tasty. Then every week they send you a box with the recipes and ingredients.

It’s great for me because I enjoy the cooking aspect but hate planning a meal and all the shopping.

Sounds nice, but no way I would execute such high demanding task like research if those things exist, which ones are good and schedule it all 😅

Yeah, I lucked out because my spouse signed us up for it. So I just go in every once in a while and pick stuff I want to eat. If I forget, they choose recipes for you based on what they “think” you’d like (or if you have favorited recipes in the app.

That sounds really nice. Where I lived before there was a service that would bring ready made food daily for lunch, but you had to choose everyday the night before what you’d want and the time window to be delivered, which means I never even tried the service. Some friends said it was a nice thing.

Not at all. Cooking, especially making use of random ingredients, actually hits just right for a good flow state. Prepping, cooking, and cleaning up simultaneously. chef_kiss

    Is there shredded cheese?

Dumb question, there is always shredded cheese if you remembered to go shopping. The real question is if it is grated to the appropriate size to shovel into your maw.
