All temperature records are broken again.
Weather is even more extreme than the past few years.
More wild fires, longer droughts, more intense hurricanes, tornados, typhoons and flooding. All once-in-a decade/generation/100 years events happen again.
There’s a double Blue Ocean Event being predicted for September too.

- Elon decides to fly on a SpaceX flight, it doesn’t go well
- We find a cure for cilantro tasting like soap for some people
- RAM prices drop lower than ever

- AI bubble pops as investors begin to realize that nobody is willing to pay for this stuff that they’re sinking their money into.
- China invades Taiwan. It’s brutal and bloody. The US destroys TSMC and other key technologically significany global infrastructure.
- As a result, the global economy again collapses as the bottom drops out of the stock market and multiple high profile companies go bankrupt. Executives get golden parachute on the way out.
- Venezuela is going to turn ugly as a power struggle ramps up among rival entities.
- The US will invade Columbia and Panama, but not Greenland.
- Ukraine will continue fighting against Russia, the stalemate will continue.
- Interest rates are going to be ramped up too fast in a effort to juice the economy before the midterm elections. Only to make inflation worse. We will continue to see prices increase.
- Trump and the Republicans are going to hype up another racist fear tactic as red meat for their base.
- Trump’s mental and physical health problems get worse, his deterioration is very obvious but nobody will say or do anything about it.
- ICEs violence will increase, as will anger of protestors. We will see riots and mass unrest.
- The Republicans lose the midterm in a landslide, Trump whines about it on truth social, calling it rigged.
- Wildfires in the west, hurricanes in the east.
- The internet gets even more dead and useless as more and more AI slop fills up every nook and cranny of all mainstream sites. Subculture sites and the Fediverse remain mostly fine.

RAM prices will continue to rise for at least the first half of the year, just going on the fact that I’ve read plenty of statements to that extent and no disagreement.

The Democrats will win control of the House in the US in the midterm elections. That’ll set off a number of investigations which will have Trump and Trump cabinet members spending a lot of time in House hearings, and news about that will be a major news item for the next two years, as the parties angle for political advantage there.

xAI will not build an artificial general intelligence. Elon Musk will, following tradition, issue a new prediction as to how AGI is imminent and maybe one more year down the road.

The Trump administration will not invade Canada or Greenland. Trump will continue to suggest that he might whenever a topic comes up that he doesn’t want news coverage of, the present undesirable topic being the expiring ACA subsidy and people’s healthcare prices going up.
I think you just listed best-case scenario. I feel things will get far worse.

- A major assassination of a billionaire or politician. A much bigger incident than Brian Thompson or Charlie Kirk. With how much more venomous the political climate keeps becoming, I expect violence to escalate into something this severe.
- No consequences whatsoever for Donald Trump. Given his health there’s a small possibility he just dies though, but that’s the only possible way he ever leaves office.
- Frieren season 2 will be peak, and it’ll be the one little bit of joy to keep me going just a little longer.

The EU will change from a Union to something else and kick out HungaryOrban and his party will lose in the upcoming Hungarian elections.The Dutch government will fall again.

Euro adoption? Nope, guaranteed won’t happen. Norway and Iceland aren’t EU members and Finland already adopted the Euro. Denmark has a permanent opt-out and will never be required to adopt the Euro, and most Danes oppose adopting it. In Sweden public support for Euro adoption is similarly low, so although the country doesn’t have an opt-out like Denmark, the government uses a legal workaround to avoid adopting it.
Sweden and Finland joined NATO after decades of not being in it. I wouldn’t put it past them to join the Eurozone to be able to get rid of Mastercard and VISA and join WERO.
Mastercard/Visa and Wero is a hot issue on Lemmy, but I would bet the vast majority of Swedes have never heard of Wero and aren’t particularly concerned about Mastercard and Visa being American. Most Swedes have long been wary of the Euro and that’s unlikely to change in the near future.
Danes however with the whole Greenland thing…

Life is truly so unfair when it comes to kids. Like you seem to have thought all this out, and even have blood tests to monitor shit. Then there are people like me who was crossing my fingers praying that I wasn’t the tiny percentage that would end up with a pregnancy after even using a condom and/or using other birth control measures. I applaud your efforts, I hope you find everything you wish for when it comes to having children. 17-25 I just remember being worried all the time.

Just keep in mind that you’re planning on bringing a child into a world where 90% of the planets arable land will be depleted by 2050, global fresh water demand will exceed supply by 40% by 2030 and 7 of 9 planetary boundaries have now been breached, so within the next 25 years billions of people will die in massive droughts and famines, and the oceans will be so acidic that the phytoplankton that produce 50 to 80% of the worlds oxygen won’t survive.
Oh and there’s a chance for a double Blue Ocean Event this year too.
My predictions aren’t good. The Untied States will attack Greenland and start a war. Canada will join the war. Or the Untied States will implode and have a revolution/civil war. I have to hope for the latter so that Canada will be safe.
And also, there will be no midterms elections, at least not free and fair ones
