The bolt that holds the flag pole unfurling mechanism planted on the moon by the Apollo 11 crew, because it’s likely to be part of human history for quite some time to come.
Also, I’m aware that the moon landing wasn’t in 1959, but I imagine a NASA engineer pulling it out of a bucket of bolts from previous projects, ie. memorable place in history, not particularly noticeable or special.
Disclaimer: I have no knowledge whatsoever of the actual construction of the flagpole or its origins.
So many questions.
Would I be aware? Would I have any senses whatsoever? Would they scale with the size of the object or would they remain full size? How long would the situation last, or would I be stuck like that until the destruction of the object? What counts as destruction? How much of my humanity and who and what I am carries over?
How would you feel if one of your inanimate possessions was inhabited by the spirit of someone of unknown desires who once answered a question to some unseen asker?
What if it was your childhood teddy bear? I mean I might chose to be one of those with the purest of intents, but it’s still super creepy; what is for all intents and purposes, a grown man, voyeur, inhabiting a teddy bear, and so the true purest of intents mean that I can’t in good conscience be something like that.
So maybe I ought to lean into the creepy and inhabit a pair of horn-rimmed spectacles worn by someone high up in an intelligence agency with a three letter acronym. If anyone needs spying on, it’s spies.
Hitachi wand
I am pretty confident that that post-dated 1959.

Yeah. Older than I would have guessed, though.

…actually I won’t say that.
Your body contains atoms which were part of many inanimate objects in 1959.
The corpse of Pope Pius XII, who died the year prior. I’d wiggle around and really freak everyone out
A Soviet AK-47. Why? Fuck you, that’s why.
If I could be anything I’d be a machine gun, cause every time I see you I’m sorry I don’t own one.
A sconce on a wall in a country leaders private sitting room. All manner of things would be seen and heard.
