good for him
Absolutely, either this story is made up, or that woman is insane.
…
I mean, have you never met religious people before??!!
“If you ever masturbate, my imaginary friend will set you on fire forever!”
You can just say “Christian”, you know.
Not unique to Christians.
Lot of imaginary sadists out there.
Such as?
No need to be insane, a lot of people fell for the whole Goop “natural healing” bullshit
when my crazy ex left me, in retrospect, she made me a favor
Someone makes a cake, or a house. They DO you a favor.
Here’s a litmus test to use when deciding to correct someone’s English online: did you understand what they meant?
Yes? Leave them alone.
No? Ask for clarification, then leave them alone.
Not everyone gets offended when they are corrected. When someone corrects my Spanish I presume they are trying to help me rather than put me down.
Assume. Presume implies you have some reason or evidence for that belief.
Edit: I find it hilarious how many people are downvoting me for correcting somebody who has just said they appreciate corrections.
I do have a reason for that belief. When I correct someone’s English it is for the same reason.
Thanks though
If “having a reason” is ok to use it, then good people existing is a pretty good reason, thus you failed at correcting them.
A lot of non-native English speakers use online communication to practice and most want to be corrected so they can improve.
A lot of native English speakers make mistakes accidentally, or speak with a dialect and some of them get really angry when people try to correct them.
It’s sometimes tricky to know which is which. The best solution is for everyone to just be kind to each other but…
This is the internet. There’s no room for kindness here!
/s, but a lot of people do think that way
Many babies turtle love! Me? Seaworld, see world.
Asparagus!
Checked out name.
Why use lot word when few word do trick
Why use big words when a diminutive one will do?
Style, fun, and precision.
Why create an aversion to communicating? That feels gross to assume people won’t understand just because a word has a lot of letters
I think correction is fine, as another comment said it’s a good way to get feedback and learn.
The problem with this comment for me was the condescension and the rudeness.
I didn’t read it that way. It’s just blunt, which is a bit rough to some people, but what do you see as condescending? asking because i could almost have made this comment, but probably would not have
(I am not a good communicator so i really want to understand why you feel it was that way)
This is of course subjective. For me the style of the correction felt like something a strict elementary school teacher would say to a kid.
There are plenty of people, myself included, who prefer to be corrected, because otherwise how will we learn? If nobody corrects us, we’ll keep making the same stupid mistakes.
If someone doesn’t want to be corrected, they are free to ignore it and to continue doing it wrong.
So you responding to my message to complain about the content, what’s the test for that? You just follow your gut? Or do you have some annoying advice you’d like to give me on when to best give annoying advice?
she made her bags
I’ve packed you a cake
You baked me a favor! 😊
bake him away, toys!
Bean a why ale
Well…maybe she made him a party favor? Tied him to the bed, and put a blinding hood on him, then injected liquid viagra into his veins every 4 hours, and invited the whole neighborhood over to pass him around. With him never even knowing who he had sex with, and who fucked him in the ass…
See? She made him a favor!
What? It’s already been established that the ex IS crazy. Loraina Bobbitt did far worse, and she wasn’t even crazy…kinda justified actually.
Aren’t you a funny one eh?
If you find it funny to help people understand how a language works?
Bad for the kids…
“I laughed it off as nonsense,” he said. “But she didn’t. She told me to leave, informed our kids about the divorce, and the next thing I knew, I was getting a call from her lawyer.”
Seems like an easy custody battle but hey you never know
Easy for a man to get custody of the kids? What world do you live in?
My friend’s ex repeatedly crashed her car while drunk with their daughter in the car and he had to fight a pretty much non-stop court battle for over a decade to maintain his 50%.
that why I said you never know
basically the same for me and my sisters with our parents. Dad in the army and mom is robbing walmarts to pay for crack. Hmm, mom gets summer custody it is!
Chatgpt is awful for people who have delusions.

Halulu delulu looloopoo
Chatgpt is awful
for people who have delusions. That’s a great question!
For people who don’t have delusions yet, it can give them one or three
In that case I predict the man doged a bullet here of a lifetime with a moron.
Theyre not in the clear yet. This type of crazy doesn’t exit your life just the once.
Heck, you’re lucky if you catch them entering back in before they’ve made another exit.
I wonder if modern stupid is funnier than ancient stupid
Some things never change.
Good for him.
My ex-wife used tarot cards to justify cheating on me, and then leaving me.
I didn’t even know she had tarot cards.
It is amazing what excuses cheaters will use to justify their behavior.
In my case, my ex did the nature documentary argument way before the manosphere became a thing. I dunno why that is a pattern with that sort of man. They like to think of themselves as superior intellectuals until it comes to sex, then they will make graphs and studies and be pseudo David Attenboroughs to justify that their caveman urges are too strong for them to overcome.
I guess the female version of that is tarot cards, coffee grounds and zodiacs? I hope you found a better lady later, because that one surely wasn’t worth keeping in your life!
Well, it’s probably true. Their urges are too strong for them to overcome. But that’s what an adult should be able to do, overcome the fucking urges
Technomancy
Shadowrun is now, old man
Shadowrun is old now, man
sad omae noises
I admire the creativity of idiots. They come up with fresh stupid ideas each and every day.
I mean at this point, shame on him for marrying someone like that to begin with
The person you love can slowly deteriorate before your eyes.
Living through it myself. Thank fuck for divorce
Me too.
I feel like she hasn’t reached her final form just yet.
Given the average answers I get from AI, i dare to bet he won’t even begin an affair if naked woman start throwing themselves at him.
Technically, he has to be in a committed relationship to have an affair anyway.
He (was) in a relationship with somebody who should be committed. Does that count?
Stupid people deserve to be alone, and the guy dodged a bullet
These people are on the fast lane for removing themselves from the gene pool in never before imagined ways.
The (now divorced) couple do have 2 kids so those genes will continue existing well into the future.
Still not sure I entirely believe the story but there are a few other mentions with a bit more details

Perhaps we shouldn’t make jokes about Eugenics
I’m going to take a risk and leave here the shortcut for Wikipedia’s page on eugenics.
Next I’m going to add that a person acting/navigating their life based off stupidity or delusion incur in an incresead probability of, by their own actions and choices, remove themselves from the population either by isolation, self endangerment or any behavior that for some reasons makes them non eligible as viable partners.
This isn’t about a group being labelled and targeted by another for forceful removal of society.
I think it is wildly inappropriate to try to tell someone that they shouldn’t have kids. Intelligence or looks are not something you can measure are you will always favor people who are like you.
Also the entire idea of Eugenics is complete BS. Trying to bread a human population has no real impact as you would need to commit genocide. Humans are not nearly as simple as a pea plants.
People with currently-known genes for conditions like Tay-Sachs (recessive gene, if a baby gets two copies they are a normal baby the first several months, then get progressive nerve damage until they die around three), or Huntington’s (relevant gene is dominant, but condition manifests in adulthood) may choose not to have kids, or use technology like PGD to select embryos without the relevant genes, or in the case of recessive genes may refuse as spouse any potential partner that also has the gene.
Those are complicated decisions, and nothing should be forced, but it’s important to be able to talk about. There shouldn’t be a taboo on talking about how parents’ decisions affect their children, even if those decisions involve genetics.
When I was still on reddit, I would occasionally come across a comment I liked.
It could be something as simple as “The (local sports team) is going to (do something sports related) this year!”
And I, without context, would reply “Please have babies.”
Sometimes massive upvotes. Sometimes massive downvotes.
NEVER made any sense. And thats fine.
Perhaps, some day, you will actually go figure out what Eugenics is and prevent yourself from posting stupid comments like this :)
Eugenics is in itself not bad. You’d want to eugenics away sickle cell anemia disease, for example. But because of history, it is understandable that eugenics has gotten a bad rap. And drawing the line where you want to perform it is blurry. Should we do away with autism or Down syndrome?
No, it is very bad. What gives you the right to deem other unworthy of having children. Under the international law it is genocide to forcefully sterilize a population.
Why allow child to be born with sickle cell anemia if they are going live a lifetime of pain?
It is perfectly understandable that eugenics has a bad name because it has been abused. Although, you should read up more on the topic as it is actually more nuanced.
What gives you the right to decide that life is unforth living? I’m not saying that it isn’t going to be hard but I think it is wildly unfair to take away someones life. If you choose not to have kids due your own experiences that is fine but don’t do more than that.
There is a movement in the in the downs syndrome community to stop terminating pregnancies. The rational is that people deserve to at least have a chance at life even if it is hard. It is a hard problem but I think the biggest danger is people seeing anyone who is different as likely to suffer.
What makes you think a lifetime of suffering is worth it? Some children and family sue medical practitioners for not disclosing genetic abnormalities that led to deleterious life which eats away not just their finances, but also their entire sense of fulfillment to live a less stressful life.
There are diseases that should be rid of, and there are one where it gets blurry and tantamount to genocide as you rightly pointed out. It is not up to me nor anyone really who should decide. Even ethicists can’t settle on the topic.
This is about as psychotic as governments using AI to predict crimes.
Not necessarily. I think that predicting crime using public information can be beneficial. It just shouldn’t be invasive or biased, and shouldn’t be used in court to justify a warrant or arrest.
I agree with you, but:
invasive, biased, used in courts
All those things that will soon happen whether we like it or not.
Let’s not kid ourselves. Publicly available information is invasive and a violation of privacy.
We have corporations who have effectively set up mass surveillance networks and they call it “adtech”.
There is an entire economy surrounding “publicly available information”. There are corporations that act as as data brokers and people search websites that compile way too much sensitive information about private individuals. Newspapers systematically report on events that aren’t really of public interest concerning private individuals; e.g. arrest records and these articles hang around forever even if the arrest doesn’t result in a conviction or the crime is expunged.
If this was employed by the government or law enforcement, it would absolutely include data that extends far beyond the reaches of publicly available information — and it’s worth pointing out that the US has a mass surveillance network in the form of the NSA/PRISM.
There is zero way you could convince me that AI, prone to hallucination, would be well served to predict crime or criminals. Even if it didn’t hallucinate, it still wouldn’t be possible to predict crime — only potentially anticipate a crime. We aren’t 2D characters following a script — anything can happen.
Law enforcement is already very unhinged. Let’s not cheerlead the addition of any tools that aid in psychosis to their arsenal.
You are aware that “it shouldn’t be invasive or biased” automatically removes every AI, right?
I’m speaking about the concept not the currently available AI.
I read that as she was having an affair and was looking for any bullshit reason to leave him
Ya. This was my thought. The straw that broke the camels back type of situation.
